Nosy Be

Hello everyone, so today I'm going to introduce you to a pearl of Malagasy tourism, perfect for your dream vacation.

Nosy Be Madagascar

This place is called Nosy Be. It's an island of volcanic origin located in Ampasindava Bay, 8 km from Madagascar. It covers an area of 312 km2, stretching 26 km from north to south and 20 km from east to west. Nosy Be is home to a wide variety of flora, including 190 tropical plants, where you can find the beauty of nature.

Access by boat from Grande Terre is via the port of Ankify (18 km from ambanja). If you arrive by plane, you'll land at Fascène, the island's airport on the East Coast, from where you can reach Hell-Ville via a 7 km asphalt road.

An island unlike any other

Nosy Be is a Paradise Island known for its dream beaches, lush vegetation and the culture of its people. The island's beauty is reflected in its towns: Andilana in the north, Hell-Ville, the capital, and the seaside villages of Ambatoloaka and Madirokely.

For those in search of the extraordinary, the famous Lokobe nature reserve is a fascinating island of authentic wilderness. A small paradise for many species of lemur.

The activity not to be missed

     Scuba diving

Scuba diving is a truly fascinating activity. Several sites are available: Nosy Tanikely, Sakatia Arch, Gorgonian Bank, Manta Point, the Zaida wrecks and the Mitsio trawler. These places are divided into two categories: the protected inner zone and the unprotected outer zone.

The protected zone is easily accessible because it is free of waves and currents, and shallow. To discover the country's microfauna of leaf fish, ghost pipe fish, seahorses, Pegasus, Nudibranchs and others, go between Nosy-Be and Sakatia, just opposite the centre of the island.

The unprotected outer zone is a deep, steep-sided fracture zone, home to big fish like tuna, manta rays and sailfish, and sometimes sharks.
